Description:

Phoenix-based SRP, the nation's third-largest public power and water utility, is recruiting for a Load Research-Forecasting Analyst to support our Strategic Planning Group.

This position requires a four-year college degree in statistics, industrial engineering, physics, applied mathematics, computer science, economics or related field is required; a graduate degree is preferred.

Knowledge of the electric utility industry and the Phoenix area economy is also preferred. Some experience in planning, economic analysis, financial analysis, forecasting or statistical analysis is a plus. Candidates should have knowledge of advanced statistical methods, solid knowledge in SQL and programming experience in at least one of the following programming languages: Java, C#, C++ and Python. Working knowledge in SQL database design, administration, reporting (SSRS), analytics (SSAS), Hadoop and NoSQL is a plus. A minimum of three years of industry experience in statistical analysis, predictive modeling or operation research is strongly preferred, along with corresponding programming experience in SAS/R and/or optimization packages, and experience in working with very large datasets, with data-mining experience considered a plus.

Candidates must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and have the ability to effectively make group presentations and explain technical details to non-technical audiences, as well as the ability to organize and coordinate work projects with minimal supervision under tight deadlines.

All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
