Job Opening at Saudi Electricity Company: Electricity Demand Forecaster

Saudi Electricity Company is hiring a electricity demand forecasting expert. If they cannot fill the position with a full-time employee, they will hire a part-time consultant to work there for the next 3 to 6 months. I taught my load forecasting course over there in 2012. The job responsibilities are listed below:
  1. Evaluate and improve the process of preparing load forecasts;
  2. Select the best methods and advanced software packages for the forecast process;
  3. Improve the statistical and economic analysis for load forecasts and develop the best mathematical models;
  4. Perform various analyses to determine the external elements that affect the load forecast and power demand, such as temperature,  population, gross domestic product, holy seasons (Muslim) and national holidays, school calendar, lunar calendar, and demand side management;
  5. Determine the risks and probabilities associated with factors that affect power demand, and work towards minimizing the effects of power demand fluctuations by developing alternative scenarios for the load forecast;
  6. Develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to obtain and share information that will benefit the company;
  7. Develop a sustainable process for load forecasting, including the methodology and criteria/basis for the load forecasting process;
  8. Capable to Use different modeling techniques such as time series, end use, econometric and statistical modeling to develop and analyze medium and long term electric peak and energy.
