Load Forecast Analyst

East Kentucky Power Cooperative has an opening for a Load Forecast Analyst at the Winchester, Kentucky Headquarters location. Position Summary
Collect data and conduct complex analyses, create reports, draw inferences, and make recommendations. Serve as a resource to EKPC and member systems by performing analytical work that is broad in nature for a broad range of customers. Convey business information and intelligence to middle and senior management via reports, presentations, and other forms of interaction.
Duties & Responsibilities

· Researching, analyzing and evaluating data and information in order to make prudent business recommendations relating to load forecasting, demand side management, market research and load research both short-term and long-term in nature.
· Provides analysis to a wide range of internal EKPC staff, EKPC management, and member systems' management and staff.
· Uses software, including highly technical computer programs, as well as advanced analytical techniques to evaluate and/or project load growth, components of load, economic projections, load research data, demographic data, and appliance saturation data.
· Analyzes trends in energy efficiency and demand side management programs, as well as applicability and cost effectiveness for EKPC and member systems.
· Participates in the development of regulatory filings such as the Integrated Resource Plan, rate cases, PSC and AG interrogatories.
· Prepares data for RUS and SERC and responds to questions.
· Conducts external environment research by collecting, processing, and analyzing information related to the energy industry.
· Performs analyses using a variety of statistical techniques, including regression, payback / breakeven, net present value, variance analysis, uncertainty and risk analysis, linear programming, etc.
· Routinely uses mathematical, marketing, financial, economic, and statistical models to complete tasks; create models and interpret model output.
· Develops and maintain spreadsheets and databases.
· Develops analytical and statistical models, spreadsheet and program based.
· Serves as leader on in-house project teams, as well as external teams including member system teams and consultants as needed.
Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree in related area required.
Five (5) years of related experience. Any equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
Working conditions:
Usual office conditions apply to this position with regular lifting up to 20 lbs.
Some travel within the system and occasional out-of-state, which may be overnight.
