Resource Analyst
We’re ElectriCities, the management services company working on behalf of North Carolina’s public power communities. We are looking for a dynamic team player to join our Compliance and Risk Management team as the Resource Analyst.
The Resource Analyst will have a specific focus on load forecasting, reliability compliance, and energy risk management needs of the organization and our Power Agencies. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
The Resource Analyst will have a specific focus on load forecasting, reliability compliance, and energy risk management needs of the organization and our Power Agencies. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Developing and maintaining accurate load forecasts
- Maintaining and communicating historical records and forecasts of energy, peak demand, economic data, delivery point load information, and weather
- Maintaining NERC/SERC reliability compliance responsibility for load-related Reliability Standards
- Supporting energy risk management activities
- Supporting the maintenance and improvement of the load forecasting and energy risk management databases
- Providing analytical support for the long-term power supply, resource planning and annual budgeting processes
- A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, economics, computer science, statistics, or an equivalent discipline
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in the electric utility industry
- Previous experience with econometric modeling, commodities modeling and/or forecasting is required
- Excellent analytical skills, including strong understanding of computer based analytical tools and extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel; Experience with MetrixND forecasting software and/or database programming is preferred
- Ability to excel in a customer-focused, team-oriented, and dynamic environment in which the rules can change rapidly and information may be scarce
- Demonstrated ability to accept accountability for his/her actions and work both independently or with a team
- Ability to act in accordance with the highest ethical and professional standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with all levels of management and outside sources
